La Casa del Cinema in Rome hosts, May 3 to 6, the first edition of the Nordic FilmFest, an event dedicated to cinema and culture of the Nordic countries, to becomebetter acquainted with contemporary developments.
The exhibition is curated the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in collaboration with the Film Institute of the respective countries and with the support and sponsorship of Cultural Affairs and Historical Center of the City of Rome.
In recent years there has been a new wave of Nordic, made up of authors who sharethe importance given to creative fees, which are measured on a variety of filmic vision,and have gained a specific space on the world film scene.
Authors that, with this exhibition, they get a chance to be better known by the Italian public, not only through their production in the novel, but also through discussions and meetings with directors and actors.
Particular attention is paid to the movies signed by women, as in the case of PernillaAugust, Swedish actress and director (his film Beyond, which won the Critics' Week in Venice in 2010) or the Finnish Bergroth Zaida, this review with The Good Son, winner of the Hugo Award at Chicago Film Festival 2011.
The projections, all in original Italian with subtitles, include new films, documentariesand previews, as the unique Soundbreaker, dedicated to the Finnish accordion, played wonderfully by Kimmo Koskela, gladiator of the accordion, which runs anamazing musical journey, almost violent.
