This is a major event in European character to promote and disseminate knowledge of cultural heritage to the widest number of citizens, facilitating those categories of people who find it difficult to enjoy our heritage in the normal visiting hours.
Museums participating in the initiative, in addition to guaranteeing free entry timetableovertime, will also organize cultural events to enrich the offering of the evening, whose specificity is dependent on the opening night of the museums.
Free access is provided from 20:00, 19 May 20 at 02:00 (last admission 01.00).
During the time of the day, the ticket will be issued regularly.
In Rome, state museums, municipal museums, libraries, municipal, private museums,academies and foreign cultural institutions, the University Sapienza, institutes andcultural centers, historic buildings will be extraordinarily open and free of charge from20 pm to 2 am.
Citizens and tourists can visit free of charge to permanent and temporary exhibitionshosted by interested museums, attend concerts and performances, participate in manyevents.
The Night of Museums in Rome this year will involve more than 90 important culturaland exhibition spaces of the city, including the Capitoline Museums, Macro,Montemartini, Trajan's Market, Exhibition Palace, Casa del Cinema, House of Jazzand the museums of the Ministry cultural heritage: the Baths of Caracalla, the Roman National Museum (Palazzo Massimo, Palazzo Altemps, Baths of Diocletian, Crypta),Castle of Julius II, Early Medieval Museum, Museum of the Via Ostia, Malborghettoarchaeological area.
