The Markets of Trajan - OPENING FREE

During the fourteenth week of culture on admission is FREE.





At the beginning of the second A.D. Emperor Trajan went very huge undertaking: the cutting of the slopes of the Quirinal to a height of nearly 30 m and the arrangement of the wall cut through an ingenious system of vaulted exedras and able to withstand the weight of the hill behind .
Thus were born the Markets of Trajan, one of Rome's most important archaeologicalcomplex, connected to the Forum of Trajan.
During the visit we will take the articulation of different levels that the monument, now houses the Museo dei Fori Imperiali, preserves, from Biberatica Street, which openedon the many old-age tabernae, the Great Hall under imposing aimed at cruise to the terraces of the upper floors, offering a spectacular view of the Imperial Forums.

The visit will be held by Dr. Emanuela Sarracino, archaeologist and tour guide.
